在那个冷漠的世界里，一只老鼠和一只蟋蟀之间的友情，让人感到了阵阵的温暖。蟋蟀柴斯特刚来到纽约，人生地疏，举目无亲，饥饿折磨了他三天三夜，刚认识几分钟的老鼠塔克热情地拿来一块腊肠，递到他的手上，不住地催促他赶快吃，柴斯特感动万分。当主人错怪了柴斯特把他关在笼子里时，塔克主动站出来承担责任，拿出一生的积蓄，解救了柴斯特。老鼠塔克这种行为是多么令人敬佩啊！
